Jenks makes his blog debut with various statements.
The Spurs made a huge statement to the Lakers and the rest of the Association this past week. They are the hottest team in the league entering the NBA's second season.
My finals pick right now is Boston over San Antonio!
Its been a pretty exciting regular season despite what Charlie thinks. No team is perfect. D Rose has been injured for awhile now. Boston owns Miami. Miami would beat the Bulls in a series. The Spurs have just drilled the Lakers twice this week. OKC is on auto pilot right now. My finals pick above doesnt seem too far fetched.
TSG stole my thunder this week. I was thinking Anthony Davis should replace Dwight Howard on the Olympic team and Bill Simmons posted the same thought in his mailbag yesterday. Team USA needs another Center besides Chandler and Anthony Davis should be the pick.
The two people I am following closely in the NFL draft are Richardson and Floyd. Richardson would be my highest rated RB coming out of college since AP. Floyd is the best goalline receiver I saw in college since Fitz. Cleveland would be nuts to pass up Trent and I would draft Floyd before the Blackmon.
In closing, Check out Jenks' new T-Shirt!!!!

Did the Spurs make a statement 2 weeks ago when they lost at home to the Lakers by 14 without Kobe?
ReplyDeleteLet's be honest, Boston isn't very good at all this year. They haven't recovered from losing Baby and KP43 and their replacements are out for the year. Picking the Tics in the east is one thing, picking them to beat any of the top 3 teams in the West is ridiculous.
The East has the biggest question marks. Boston DOES own Miami who doesn't have a half court game at all and the Bulls have issues with D Rose's health. Boston has been playing well since Bradley took the starting position from Ray Allen who is having the worst season of his career, what happened to "the big 3?"
OKC has the most complete, deep team with all due respect to the Spurs. Okc lacks interior offense which could haunt them but the Spurs have good inside game and the Lakers have the best in the league. The playoffs come down to who is more physical and gets the tough baskets. Teams relying on outside game usually get upset in the 1st round.
Maybe Stiesma or whatever his name is should be on the Olympic team? Hahaha! Bynum would be an even better choice than Dwight Howard but he is going to Germany for knee surgery.
I like Richardson A LOT but no way is the best since AP. He's not even the best Alabama RB in recent years, that belongs to Mark Ingram. Darren McFadden would be the best since AP though.
Floyd? Over Blackmon? NO ONE was better goaline wr than Fitz and Floyd might be good, I am not sold on him in the NFL at all. Stephen Hill at 6'4" might be the best WR in the draft.
Pops was treating that game two weeks ago like a preseason game. You know that. The Spurs are fucking dangerous. Everyone is healthy. I am glad they are in the West.
ReplyDeleteI hope more people than you are sleeping on Jesus. I hope the Celts are deep enough. No one is really playing the Baby Davis/Leon Powe role right now.
The backs you mentioned dont have the strength of Richardson. I like his chances to dominate.
Pops was treating that game like what? #PrisoneroftheMoment.
ReplyDelete1 game here or there doesn't matter all that much. Lakers play OKC today and while it matters for homecourt with the seeds, it is NOT a statement game for a 7 game series.
No one is playing the baby/powe role cuz THEY DON'T HAVE ANYONE! I don't know why we are even talking about the Celtics other than they are your favorite team. You don't want to see them in the finals vs the Lakers, I can TELL YOU THAT MUCH!
